Start with the decision

Which projects need a pricing, scope or delivery change?

Freelancers and agency owners reviewing completed or ongoing work.

From input to next step.

  1. 01

    Use comparable figures

Enter earned project revenue on the same basis as costs. Keep taxes and pass-through amounts consistent. For unfinished projects, include a clearly labelled remaining-cost estimate.

  2. 02

    Record actual effort

Include meetings, revisions, administration and handover. Use delivery cost per hour; a selling rate would overstate internal cost.

  3. 03

    Choose one correction

Review why the estimate moved. Change future scope, estimating assumptions or operating practice. Do not infer that one project represents every customer.
