Start with the decision

How much estimated effort remains after recorded work?

Freelancers reviewing open work packages.

From input to next step.

  1. 01

    Select open work

Use one row per work package and a consistent review date. Keep completed and accepted work outside this open-work review.

  2. 02

    Refresh the estimate

Enter recorded hours and a new estimate to finish. Do not calculate remaining work solely by subtracting elapsed time.

  3. 03

    Review the variance

Compare expected total effort with the original estimate and assign a response. This is not a revenue-recognition calculation.

A look inside

Before you use the result.

  • Recorded hours are not evidence of progress by themselves.
  • Estimate to finish requires judgement.
  • Do not use this as a billing ledger.

An effort review, not work-in-progress accounting or revenue recognition.
