Start with the decision

Which problem statements rely on unverified or indirect evidence?

Founders collecting early observations about a customer problem.

From input to next step.

  1. 01

    Record the source context

Use a dated reference and describe the relevant participant or situation without unnecessary personal information. Distinguish direct observation from a reported anecdote.

  2. 02

    Write the observation first

Record behaviour, a permitted quotation or a concrete consequence accurately. Keep your interpretation in its own field.

  3. 03

    Review the missing evidence

Look for contradictions, narrow contexts and unanswered questions. Repeated mentions in one channel do not automatically establish prevalence or a market size.

A look inside

The example, in plain sight.

Fictional values from the workbook. Amounts are illustrative currency units, not a market rate or a customer result.

Before you use the result.

  • Do not invent quotations or participant counts.
  • One source repeated elsewhere is still one source.
  • A problem statement is not validated demand.

An evidence organiser, not a completed research study, statistical sample or market-size model.
